Bob Collins passed away peacefully December 31, 2017 at the age of 71. He was born in Port Neches, Texas on July 8, 1946. He joined the Navy where he learned the electrical trade and served his time aboard the U.S.S. Harry E. Hubbard as an electrician. After his military service he remained in California where he worked for various companies which included Griffin Wheel Company and The McGuire Corporation. He then went into business for himself in 1986 as an electrical contractor. He was the owner and operator of Tri Star Electric and General Contracting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sebren Collins and Jewel Irene Vardeman-Woods of Texas as well as two sisters Billie and Robbie of California. Left to cherish his memory are his three children Robert Collins (Kim), Jeremy Collins (Adrienna) and Amanda Collins (Charles) as well as five grandchildren: Christopher, Michael, Courtney, Mackenzie and Jake, all of California. He was also survived by his former wife Sandra Wilson, as well as his good buddy Steve Johnson who were both instrumental in helping with his care. Family was the most important aspect of his life. He was a great father, grandfather, friend and business man. He loved camping and fishing especially in the High Sierra’s and at Lake Mojave. He was known by all for his witty sense of humor and generous nature. Few can say they lived a fuller life. Bob will be deeply missed by all.
