Magdalena "Nena" Negrete

December 3, 1928 - August 23, 2018

Magdalena “Nena” H. Negrete, 89, was born in Miami, AZ. to parents, Magdaleon and Maria Huerigo. She passed on to the Lord’s heavenly kingdom on Thurs., Aug. 23, 2018 in her home in Rialto, CA surrounded by her loved ones. Nena as everyone knew her, was married to her beloved husband Raymond Negrete for 64 years. She was well known for her contribution to the community of San Bernardino by way of her ‘Nena’s Mexican Restaurant, formerly located on D Street in San Bernardino, CA. She proudly owned and operated Nena’s with her husband Raymond for over 55 years. She took great pride in the hard work she and her husband put into her restaurant. She cooked the best Mexican dishes and established ‘first name basis’ relationships with her regular customers! Nena had accomplished much throughout her life. She was a Parishioner of St. John XXIII Parish in Rialto, CA. She was an enthusiastic traveler. She enjoyed seeing the sights and sounds of the world as she traveled throughout Europe and America! She collected dolls from around the world. Gardening was also a passion of hers. She wasn’t one to shy from getting her hands into the soil to nurture her beautiful garden. However, her greatest joy in life came from her family. She always enjoyed spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren! Nena Negrete is survived by her 2 loving daughters, Trinnie Morris and Kris Pavelak (Husband John); proud son, Steve Negrete; beloved grandchildren, Nick Morris (Karen), Nathan Morris (Brenda), Steve Negrete Jr., Virgie Negrete, Ashley Negrete, Julie Negrete, Ryan Pavelak (Tia), Courtney Pavelak (Val), and Lance Pavelak; 12 cherished great grandchildren; sister Laura Martinez; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond Negrete, mother Maria Fajardo, sisters Hortencia Parker, Triny Guillen, Frances Becerril, and brother Florencio Delgado. Visitation to be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. with Rosary at 7:15 p.m. at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel in San Bernardino, CA. Mass of Christian Burial to follow on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. John XXIII Parish Community Church in Rialto with the committal to follow at Mt. View Memorial Park in San Bernardino. In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
