Geraldine May Starbuck

February 6, 1930 - September 1, 2019

The family of Geraldine May Starbuck (Gafford) 89, of Highland are deeply saddened to announce her passing on September 1, 2019 in Loma Linda, CA. Gerry was born to Walter and Helen Gafford (Richardson) on February 6, 1930 in San Bernardino , CA. She graduated from San Bernardino High School and San Bernardino Valley College. She met the love of her life, John R. Starbuck, in 1951 at a Sadie Hawkins dance at March Air Force Base. They were married on April 6, 1952 in Highland, CA. The couple had five children, nine grandchildren, and one great grandson. Gerry was active in service organizations throughout her life. She was involved in Eastern Star, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, AYSO, and the Highland Women's Club. She was trained to be her husband John's Deputy Federal Marshal's escort to assist him with female prisoners. She also worked as a teacher's aide for the Redlands School District. She enjoyed crafts, painting, sewing, baking, and raising her children and grandchildren to be loving people. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her five children; Scott Starbuck (Betsy) of Highland, Susan Starbuck Huffman (John) of Vista, Stephanie Starbuck Bauer (Barry) of Garden Grove, Stacy Starbuck (Heidi) of Liberty Hill, Texas, and Sara Starbuck Jackson (Steve) of Highland; nine grandchildren, Ray (Gabby), Kate, Kyle, Megan, Michael, Aaron, Sho, Schelby, and Sienna; one great grandson, Troy. A celebration of Gerry's life will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 11 am at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside.
