Douglas William Bader, 73, of San Bernardino, passed away December 31, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. Doug was born June 30, 1945 to Bill and Harriet (Dunlop) Bader in Long Beach, CA. His family, including sister Cheryl and brother Robert moved to Rialto in 1959. He graduated Eisenhower high School in 1963, and attended Chaffey College and Valley College. Doug was drafted into the Army in 1966 and served two years stationed in Mannheim, Germany. He worked at Crest Chevrolet in San Bernardino for 48 years, acting as leasing manager, general sales manager and vice president. In his school days Doug was something of an athlete, playing baseball and running track. Later his passion was golf, and on weekends could be found hitting the links. He also enjoyed traveling and camping. Doug visited Europe several times and particularly enjoyed a cruise to Alaska. In recent years his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Doug was well known in his community as someone who was quick to smile or laugh at a joke, with the kindest of hearts and a generous spirit. He will be missed. He was preceded in death by his father Bill and his mother Harriet. He is survived by his daughter Allison (Tim) and his sons Brian and David, as well as his longtime girlfriend Pam Starkweather and grandchildren Alexis, Connor, Brady, Jonathan and Alice. He also leaves his sister Cheryl (George) and brother Rob (Patty) and his second family the McCormick's, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
