Betty June Bean passed away peacefully on June 23, 2019 at the age of 97. Betty lived a beautiful and complete life. She was born on February 24, 1922 to George and Cecila Provancha. Betty grew up with siblings George(Buddy) Provancha ,Loraine Provancha Longmore, and Nancy Provancha Warren. Her mother died when Betty was 13 and she always told her grandchildren stories of those times when she was growing up with her siblings. She married her husband James Bean in 1951 and was married for 52 years until his passing in 2003. Betty’s husband Jim was an officer in the Air Force and his work took them all over the United States until they settled in California in 1960. She gave birth to their first son Jimmy who died at an early age of 15 in 1967. Betty often spoke about Jimmy and how much she missed him but her eyes would light up when she would say that she know she will see him again in heaven. Betty was a Registered Nurse and worked in the Critical Care Department and the Sterile Processing Department as a nurse as well as in management roles at St. Bernardine Medical Center. After retiring from St. Bernardines she served as a volunteer for 30 years. She had a love for cooking, needlepoint, cards and rummikub. She is survived by her four remaining sons, John Bean, Bill Bean, Steve Bean and Jeff Bean. She is also survived by her most precious treasures, her grandchildren, Chris Bean, Meghan Jenkins, Courtney Bean, Kaelee Booth, Nicole Mcguire , James Bean and six great grandchildren Kaylyn, Brooklyn, Waylon, Oliver, Daniella and Evalee. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a host of many friends on whom she has made an impact on over the years. Graveside Services will be held on Friday July 26 at 1:01 pm at Riverside National Cemetery. A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday July 27, 2019 at 11:00am at First Presbyterian Church, 1900 N. D Street.
