Beatrice Muga passed away August 6th in her sleep at the age of 88 years, six weeks shy of her 89th birthday. Bea was a retired nurse and a resident of Highland for 54 years, where she was a member of St. Adelaide’s parish. Bea is preceded in death by her husband, retired USAF Sergeant Pete Muga. Bea and Pete were married for 69 years. Their children are Julia, Tony, Richard, Manny, Joe (wife Terri), and Patty (husband Jason). Their 8 grandchildren are Elizabeth, Matthew (wife Kimberly), Jennifer (husband Dennis), David (wife Melissa), Jackie (husband Steven), Rheanna (husband Dennis), Samantha, and Isabel. They have 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other loving relatives. Bea is survived by two of her 8 siblings, Ray (wife Judy) and Jim (wife Maggie). Bea was born to Raymond and Aurelia Jamsay in Weld County, Colorado in 1932. She was the middle child of a sibling set of nine. Bea was raised on a farm where she helped her family to plant and harvest crops. Throughout her life she enjoyed gardening. She was known for her beautiful roses, flowers and pomegranates. Bea enjoyed her wonderful neighbors. She also enjoyed, singing, dancing, big band music, Hallmark movies, cowboy movies and musicals. She loved to play bingo. She always looked forward to listening to granddaughter Isabel and great-grandsons Teddy and Beau play their musical instruments in concerts. Bea always enjoyed eating dinner at the San Manuel Casino, Jade Inn and Pepito’s all in Highland. As a military wife, Bea was an active volunteer in the Family Service Agency which provided goods and services to military families. She encouraged and supported her six children in their studies, sports, scouting and other activities. Bea valued education. Her children, grandchildren and their spouses hold 27 college degrees, including 3 doctorates and 7 Master degrees. Bea Muga, also known as Granny, will be missed by all who loved her and whose lives she enriched. We love you, Granny. We’ll see you again in heaven.
