Do You Ever Have Lunch?
John Bobbitt
“Do You Ever Have Lunch?”
I heard those words the other day from a member of a family we recently served. He arrived about half past noon and was seated in one of our arrangements rooms to complete some business with us.
The gentleman remarked he had come to our facility on several occasions the last several weeks and each time he had spent a portion or all of the noon hour here. That prompted his question, “Don’t you ever have lunch?”
Obviously we do have lunch . . . and often too much for lunch, I suppose. But the mortuary is one of those unique places where you will never hear it said, “That person is not here right now, could you come back later.” It simply hasn’t been done, isn’t being done, nor will it occur in the future.
Our staff is aware of each family’s plans and what we don’t know, we soon discover inside the well-kept file. When we’re open, there will be someone here to help you; count on it. And when we’re not open? There is staff available to care for emergency needs.
